Adblock Plus for Firefox

Posted in General Web on October 25th, 2010 by phoenixdigital

Great plugin to remove flash banners etc.. making sites load alot faster.

Also if a certain area of a website annoys you, you can banish it forever. Just click on the adblock icon dropdown on the top right of your browser (The little arrow down to the right of the icon).

Then click “Preferences” and then “Add filter”

to remove the sidebar from iGoogle add something like

google.com#td(class=leftborder)

This will hide the TD element with the class “leftborder” on this website whenever it loads. So you can customise this for any site you want.

Not sure how useful it would be but it’s promising.

Great little plugin for firefox that will recover lost form data. I installed it a little too late but now I am ready for the next time a website/browser/internet connection craps out on me.

Free Icon Libraries

Posted in General Web, HTML & CSS on February 4th, 2010 by phoenixdigital

It is very frustrating searching the net for a range of free icons as most that claim to be free are just pointers to crappy icons which then offer another range of paid ones as well. While I think people should be paid for icon design I think it makes it hard to find icons for a small project or admin screen.

Here are some links to some known FREE icon libraries
